Product Update: Shift Platform v4.35.0 Release Notes
Shift Platform v4.35.0 is here. This is one of the largest v4 releases to date, spanning the Web Exchange, Derivatives, Back Office, Crypto Pay, and core platform infrastructure. The release introduces Spot Grid Bots, advanced derivatives order types including Trailing Stop and OCO, multi level take profit and stop loss, a volume based fee tier system, Vaults and Yield, the first phase of the Shift Platform visual redesign, 2FA withdrawal protection, inline Trulioo KYC, and a broad set of Crypto Pay, wallet, and Back Office improvements.
Key Updates and Changes
Version 4.35.0 introduces improvements across eight areas: the Platform UI Redesign, Spot Grid Bots, Derivatives, Vaults and Yield, Crypto Pay, Web Exchange, Security and Compliance, and Back Office and Platform Services. The release reflects continued investment in trading depth, user experience, compliance infrastructure, and the tooling teams need to configure, support, and grow their platforms.
Platform UI Redesign: Shift Phoenix Phase 0
The first phase of the Shift Platform visual redesign ships in v4.35.0, establishing a new visual and structural foundation for the web exchange based on the Shift Phoenix design system. Additional pages and mobile surfaces are targeted for v4.36 and beyond.
- New global header and top navigation bar replacing the legacy collapsible sidebar, applied across all web exchange pages
- Dark theme is now the standard interface; the theme switcher has been removed, and dark is the only available mode
- Updated color palette and refreshed icon set applied consistently across the web exchange
- “Exchange” renamed to “Spot” throughout navigation and routing
- Redesigned wallet dropdown in the header with a new wallet list layout, redesigned wallet cards, and a new wallet navigation pill component
- Redesigned deposit and withdrawal modals with a cleaner layout and a faster funding flow
- Redesigned Wallets page with an updated card based layout, portfolio type filtering, and richer metadata display via meta properties
The Spot page visual redesign, wallet creation limit removal, and additional filter and export capabilities on the Wallets page are targeting v4.37.
Spot Grid Bots
Spot Grid Bots launch in v4.35.0 across web, mobile, and Back Office in a single release. Grid bots automate spot trading by placing buy and sell orders within a defined price range, capturing spread from market movement without manual intervention.
- Quick Start: simplified three step flow where users select a trading pair, choose a risk adjusted AI strategy (Conservative, Balanced, or Intensive), and set an investment amount; all presets use Bollinger Band volatility analysis over the previous seven days to calculate price corridors automatically
- Advanced Create: manual control over price ranges, grid counts up to 100 levels, and arithmetic or geometric spacing for experienced traders
- Real time analytics dashboard showing total investment, live portfolio value, and net PnL across all active bots
- Each bot runs in an isolated sub wallet to prevent capital fragmentation and maintain a clear audit trail
- Stop loss and take profit triggers with a global kill switch for emergency market events
- Low latency execution via V4 RPC, placing replacement orders in under 10 seconds after a fill
Derivatives Grid Bots, DCA bots, chart based visual trading, and custom strategy support are on the roadmap for future releases.
Derivatives: Advanced Order Types and Trading Tools
The Derivatives platform receives four new professional grade order types alongside trading improvements that give traders and operations teams significantly more control over execution and risk.
- Trailing Stop: dynamically follows market price to lock in gains as a trend continues
- OCO (One Cancels the Other): sets simultaneous profit and loss targets where triggering one automatically cancels the other
- OTO (One Triggers the Other): packages an entry order with automated protection that activates on fill
- Iceberg and TWAP orders: executes large volumes in smaller increments to reduce market impact
- Multi level take profit and stop loss: traders can set up to five individual take profit levels and five stop loss levels per order or position, each with a custom quantity allocation; an “M” badge appears in Orders and Positions tables next to tiered TP/SL with a tooltip showing all active levels on hover
- SL/TP validation now uses Bid and Ask prices instead of market price, preventing orders from being placed inside the spread
- Limit order leverage editing: traders can now modify leverage on pending limit orders; when no open position exists, changing leverage on one order updates all pending orders for the same instrument automatically
- Favorites: traders can star instruments to pin them to the top of the instruments list, sorted alphabetically among pinned items
- USD equivalent display: real time USD values appear below the quantity field for crypto denominated instruments, with a toggle between base and margin currency input
- Minimum price distance rule: configurable minimum tick distance from market price prevents limit orders from being placed too close to current price; enforces at both creation and modification
- Automated full close retry: when a close order results in a partial fill, the system automatically retries up to 50 times until the position is fully closed
Derivatives: Volume Tiers, Risk Management, and Back Office
A comprehensive volume based fee tier system and a rebuilt risk management dashboard give platforms the tools to reward high volume traders and manage Derivatives operations at scale.
- Volume and fee tiers: five configurable tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) apply different volume thresholds and fee multipliers across all instruments; a Back Office tabbed interface handles tier thresholds and fees per instrument; tier assignments recalculate automatically on a daily basis
- Rebuilt risk management dashboard in Back Office with General, Client Performance, Risk Overview, and Trading Status views; interactive widgets, expandable rows, and color coded positive and negative values across all instruments
- New instrument Overview tab between Exchange and Performance showing contract specifications, leverage settings, trading limits, funding schedule, and VIP tier progression tracking
- Position floating PnL chart in the position information modal for open and closed positions with 1 day, 7 day, and 14 day time range options
- A new Points markup method for financing rates alongside the existing percentage method
- Free Margin now calculates as Equity minus Used Margin, independent of Margin Call level; Margin Call flag is now informational only and no longer restricts trading
- Funding fee currency conversion fix: funding fees now correctly convert to the margin currency when the quote currency differs
- Maintenance Mode for Derivatives: admins can temporarily disable margin trading while keeping the rest of the platform operational
- Calendar revamp: separate trading and funding calendars with improved week views, holiday rule management, and resolution of a one minute closure gap at day cut transitions
- Clone functionality in Back Office: admins can duplicate instruments, currencies, strategies, fee groups, limit groups, and calendars
- Bulk update and bulk delete across currencies, instruments, strategies, fee groups, limit groups, trading fees, and trading limits
- CSV import for Derivatives instruments: bulk update existing instrument configurations via CSV with a preview step before applying changes
- Full audit logging for order lifecycle events including field changes, timestamps, and cancellation reasons, accessible via CloudWatch
- Two new system beneficiary accounts give teams a centralized view of trading fees and spread revenue in Back Office
Vaults and Yield
Users can now allocate digital assets to yield bearing vault strategies directly from the exchange. Vaults and Yield add a savings product layer to the platform, giving users a reason to hold assets beyond active trading. Available on web and mobile.
- Browse available vault strategies with APY and supported asset type
- Allocate assets to one or more strategies
- View current allocation balance and accrued yield
- Access yield history at the transaction level
- Back Office admins create and configure vault strategies, set APY, and control availability before users can allocate
Crypto Pay Improvements
Crypto Pay receives six improvements to fee configuration, compliance visibility, and the payment widget experience.
- Dual fee support: merchants can configure both a percentage based fee and a minimum fixed fee per cryptocurrency for deposits and payouts independently; the system applies whichever is greater at transaction time, with fee information displayed transparently in the invoice and widget
- Manual fee input: the Fee (%) field in Fee Settings now accepts typed values in addition to the slider, with a 5% cap enforced inline; applies to default deposit fees, default payout fees, and all custom per currency fee configurations
- Overpayment auto conversion control: a new merchant level setting controls whether funds received above an invoice total convert automatically to the preferred settlement currency; an is_overpayment flag has been added to transaction objects and webhook payloads for downstream tracking
- KYT visibility: end to end compliance screening results now surface across Payments, Payouts, and the payment widget, exposing KYT status, risk score, decision reason, and error message; all KYT fields are feature gated and hidden entirely when KYT is not enabled
- Passthrough fee logic fix: passthrough fees now correctly apply to all fee types including both merchant and parent merchant fees; when passthrough is enabled, fees distribute to parent accounts after the transaction completes
- QR code expansion: users can tap or click the QR code in the payment widget to open an enlarged overlay for easier scanning from a mobile device
Web Exchange Improvements
Active traders and everyday users gain meaningful improvements to account management, order handling, and wallet visibility across the Web Exchange.
- Portfolio history: the portfolio value chart now shows historical performance over selectable time ranges (one day, one week, one month, all time); portfolio history has moved directly into the main portfolio view from the Analytics area
- Cancel All: clears all open orders for a selected trading pair in one click; order list sorting has been improved
- Wallet archive: wallets can be archived to hide them from the main list without deleting them; archived wallets remain accessible and restorable
- Wallet metadata: wallet display now uses meta properties for richer metadata including custom icons and display names configured from Back Office; transfer history rows include a details popup showing transfer ID and metadata
- Today’s PnL: a new column shows each asset’s unrealized daily profit and loss in the wallet view
- Saved withdrawal addresses: users can save frequently used withdrawal destinations and select them when initiating a withdrawal
- Password reuse prevention enforced on the web exchange password reset flow
- Large numbers in balance and amount columns now display with thousand separators for readability
- Currencies disabled on the exchange but holding a nonzero balance now display the actual balance instead of zero
- Login form shows a specific “account not found” message for unregistered emails rather than a generic error
Security and Compliance
v4.35.0 strengthens the platform at its most critical points: fund movements, identity verification, API authentication, and webhook delivery.
- 2FA withdrawal protection: two factor authentication can now be required as an additional confirmation gate for all withdrawal operations; available on web and mobile
- Inline KYC with Trulioo: identity verification now completes within the exchange UI without leaving the platform; KYC and KYT administration improvements are available in Back Office for compliance teams
- User deletion now requires multifactor authentication and an explicit hard_delete: true flag; all callers including web, mobile, Back Office, and direct API integrations must be updated before deploying v4.35.0
- API key HMAC enforcement: API requests can now be required to include a valid HMAC signature via the api_key_hmac_required setting; when enabled, unsigned API key requests are rejected; opt in and not enabled by default
- Webhook SSRF hardening: webhook delivery to private or internal IP addresses now silently rejects; review all webhook configurations before upgrading
- Server side limits added to existing search queries to protect platform stability against unbounded queries; end users are unaffected in typical usage
Back Office and Platform
- Payments CSV export: Back Office payments can now be exported to CSV for reporting and reconciliation; thousand separators applied to large numeric values in tables
- Admin event log: user account creation events are now captured in the Admin Event Log, completing the audit trail alongside other system events
- Manual trigger for Referrals, Earn, and Fee Tiers: admins can manually trigger out of cycle execution of Referral, Earn, and Fee Tier procedures for on demand recalculation and backfill
- Utila integration: the Shift Platform now supports integration with Utila for institutional digital asset custody and wallet management
- Fee and trade tier management: more granular fee structures and tier thresholds for spot trading, independent of Derivatives configurations
Impact of These Updates for Brokers and Exchanges
Version 4.35.0 advances trading capability, user experience, compliance infrastructure, and operational tooling across every major surface of the platform.
Spot Grid Bots are the headline feature of this release. Shipping the complete implementation across web, mobile, and Back Office in a single release means platforms can go to market immediately rather than in stages.
The Derivatives upgrade closes a meaningful gap relative to institutional platforms. Trailing Stop, OCO, OTO, multi level TP/SL, volume based fee tiers, and a rebuilt risk dashboard give traders and operations teams a significantly stronger toolkit.
The Platform UI Redesign establishes the visual foundation for the next stage of platform development. A consistent dark interface, updated navigation, and redesigned wallet flows improve the first impression for every new user and every demo.
Vaults and Yield give users a reason to hold assets on platform rather than withdraw, which supports balances and reduces churn.
Crypto Pay improvements make fee configuration more flexible and compliance visibility more complete. The dual fee model, overpayment controls, and transparent KYT display address real operational needs for merchants and compliance teams.
The security updates in v4.35.0 harden the platform at its most critical points. 2FA withdrawal protection, HMAC enforcement, MFA gated deletion, and SSRF hardened webhooks reduce the attack surface across every integration and user facing flow.
